Case Conservation & Restoration

Case conservation and restoration, like dials, is a very specialised area of conservation and restoration, and as such is best undertaken by professional furniture restorers. Although work is not undertaken on clock cases in house, J A Alcock & Son can arrange for a highly skilled artisan to conserve and restore your clock case at the same time as your movement and dial are being restored and conserved.

Hand Replacements

Clock hands can sometimes become damaged or be missing entirely. J A Alcock & Son are able to replace clock hands with authentic looking replacements, crafted by hand to antique designs. This is possible due to a large resource of hand patterns at our disposal, along with our extensive knowledge of dating clocks and ensuring that any replacement hands look authentic.
